What are the duties of the bride's mother and father?
Traditionally the bride’s parents host the wedding. But nowadays it is all up to the bridal couple to decide, who will host. It is important to state this in the invitation card. Here are duties they can do with ease: - Help to scout out wedding and receptions sites and recommending wedding musicians. - Making maps with directions, which will be included with invitations. - Responsible for the quest list. - Determine what the bride wants you to wear on the big day. - If needed, arrange for guests’ transportations. - Attend the shower and the rehearsal dinner. The father shall be prepared to give a toast, welcoming the groom into the family. - Stand in the receiving line beside your daughter to greet guests. - Remind the bride often how special she is. - Let the bride cry on your shoulders. - Walk your daughter down the aisle (if she want you to!). - If you are the host of the wedding, make a short speech at the reception. - Keep an eye on the bar. - Stay until the celebration’s end. |
