| Tuscany is perfect for a honeymoon. To stay in a castle among olive groves and vineyards must be one of the most romantic ways to celebrate your wedding. July and August are hottest and most humid. Florence If you shall describe Florence with just one word, the word is – art! Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance and home to many of the world’s most famous paintings and statues, such as Michelangelo’s statues” Bacchus” and” David” and Botticelli’s” The birth of Venus”. Siena Siena is built on three hills with the cathedral on the top and surrounded by a wall. It is one of Italy’s best-preserved medieval towns. Siena with its many romantic alleys is perfect for the newlywed! Here you will find one of the world's most beautiful squares, Il Campo, which you must visit! Siena has approximately 60.000 inhabitants. Just north of Siena is the Chianti-district and to the south you will find a band of small charming villages from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance: Montepulciano, Sand Quirico d' Orcia and others. Pisa The leaning tower on the Piazza dei Miracoli has become a symbol for Pisa. It was from the tower that Galileo Galilei dropped steel bulbs in order to study the gravity. Today, the tower leans five metres from the vertical line. Pisa has approximately 100.000 inhabitants. Lucca and Volterra are villages from the Middle Ages. Here, you will find many cosy narrow streets and squares. Stroll along in the wonderful garden close to Villa Reale in Lucca, once Napoleons sister's home. Lucca is surrounded by a twelve meter high wall. Lucca has approximately 90.000 inhabitants. Volterra is situated on a mountain with a stunning view of the environments. Volterra with 14.000 inhabitants is called “the town of the winds”. Food and drink The Italian food is superb. Take advantage of local specialties, such as olive oil, porcini, truffles, the Parma ham, salami, cheeses pecorino and ricotta, anti pasta, mozzarella, ice-cream and other desserts. To this you drink wine from the Tuscany! Espresso is perfect to complete the dinner. Olive oil from Tuscany is one of the best olive oils in the world and is also one of the most important ingredients in the Italian cuisine.
