Wedding Makeup Tips
The pressure to look good on your wedding day is huge. Whether you want to have natural or colourful make up for your wedding let our guide help you look fresh faced and camera ready for your big day.
Make life easier for yourself and choose a make-up style that will work with your natural skin tone to enhance the glow you feel on the inside and allow it to shine through.
Research
Look through bridal magazines to get ideas of how you think your make up should look. Remember to stick to combinations of colours that are understated and subtly blend with the overall style of the wedding. Try to avoid bold colours; essentially your make up should be an enhancement of your usual make up 'look'.
Professional
If you're choosing to employ a make-up artist for your wedding, it's important to see what they can do before they get to work on your big day. This is when a dress rehearsal becomes important, because you can take pictures and evaluate whether you are happy with finished effect.
Doing your Own Make Up
If your budget is tight and you feel up to it, you could do your own make up. Choose your normal foundation, but be aware - if it has light filters in it, it will reflect the light and make you look pale. Avoid dramatic red lipstick unless you can carry the look off. To ensure your lipstick lasts as long as possible use lip primer before you apply the lipstick. If you are getting married in the summer, avoid shine products as it could look like sweat in the photos. If you are getting married in the Winter, avoid blotchiness by applying green concealer on the problems areas.
Don't Forget
When it comes to your make up there are a few things you can't afford to forget. Remember to use waterproof mascara; in case your emotions get the better of you. Also ensure that you look at using long lasting makeup which is designed to last the day and night. On the day you should carry your lipstick for touch ups and translucent powder to blot away shiny patches and you should also carry a handbag sized spray perfume.
