How To Write Wedding Thank You Cards
You want to show your appreciation for the wonderful wedding gifts you have received. Learn how to write your wedding cards and send your guests a heart felt thankyou.
Be Prepared
If you had a large wedding, sending ‘thankyous’ to all your guests may seem like a large task. Don´t ruin your return home with these thoughts. Put yourself in a good frame of mind. Start as soon as you can. Make an evening of it. Sit down as a couple, enjoy a glass of wine and begin.
Write On
If you decide to hand write your thankyou cards, ensure you buy quality stationery and that have pens you feel happy writing with. You could even do a test run and write out what you want to say and see how it fits. Alternatively, you could set up your printer to print out what you want to say in an attractive font. This is especially good if you have bad handwriting.
Etiquette
In order to reduce your stress levels and also be polite, try to send Thankyou cards as the gifts arrive. Aim to send all Thankyou cards at least a month after you arrive home from your honeymoon. Remember, if you are sending
Thankyou Cards before the wedding do not use your married name. You may have to buy stationery for before and after.
What to say
Be sure that you refer to the gift in your Thankyou Cards. You can save yourself time if a lot of the gifts were infact money and you are saving for one particular thing. Maybe you used the money you received to pay for your honeymoon in which case you could always go for a more informal approach and send a holiday postcard from where you went as your thankyou.
