How to Create a Wedding Scrapbook

If you’re a creative person or you just want a unique way to mark your relationship from the day you met to your wedding day and beyond, a scrapbook is the ideal solution.

Collect
You may already be a fan of scrapbooking or maybe you’re new to it. Either way, the first thing you have to do is collect together memorabilia. Go back to when you were started off as a couple. Photos, ticket stubs, a spray of the perfume you wore when you met, and finish up with wedding artifacts. You’ll probably be surprised to find that you have a lot of memorabilia hidden away.

Materials
Before you go ahead and start buying paper and scrapbook accessories, think about how you want the book to end up looking. If you want an eclectic mix with different colours and textures, you won’t have to choose a particular theme. If, however you want a wedding scrapbook that feels more complete, decide on a style and/or colour scheme that reflects you and your husband and your wedding.

Layout
The great thing about scrapbooking is that it is completely up to you how you lay things out and what you include or exclude. Don’t feel afraid to cut up photos in unique ways. Why not include a picture of you as couple cut into a heart shape. The great thing about cutting up photos is that you will be able to fit more on to your pages. Remember however that in order to protect your finished wedding book you will need to buy page protectors.

Telling a story
With your wedding scrapbook you are effectively telling your story; it is a more animated than say for example a photo album. You have creative license? In that case anything goes. Write poetry, include famous quotes or just keep it very personal to you two. You could even include quotes from your wedding guest book so that as you look back all your memories are evoked.
